North West 200: Michael Rutter e Alastair Seeley in pole. Brutto infortunio per Stuart Easton

In quel d’oltremanica è in scena questi giorni la North West 200, una delle più seguite e storiche gare su strada del campionato Road Racing. Finora sono state affrontate ben due qualifiche per 3 differenti categorie (Supersport, Superstock e Superbike), in attesa dell’inizio delle gare, domani alle 11. L’edizione 2011 ha finora presentato diverse novitè e molte conferme. Purtroppo dobbiamo segnalare una brutta caduta del favorito Stuart Easton, rimasto infortunato, che non potrà prendere parte alla gara.

La pole position della Superbike è andata a Michael Rutter. Il pilota è ormai un veterano, vincitore per ben 12 volte su queste strade e ancora al massimo della forma. Con la sua performance torna in pole la Ducati 1098R, che infila una doppietta in griglia grazie al secondo posto del compagno di Michael, Martin Jessopp. A seguire nella Top6 troviamo Michael Dunlop, Guy Martin (che sembra aver trovato il giusto feeling con la Suzuki TAS), Cameron Donald e Gary Johnson.

Superstock e Supersport hanno entrambe Alastair Seeley in pole. Il pilota Suzuki ha portato al limite sia la GSX-R 600 che la 1000 Stock, precedendo Michael Dunlop fra le maxi, poi a seguire Rutter, Johnson, William Dunlop e Ryan Farquhar. Fra le medie cilindrate, invece il secondo posto va a Johnson, poi ancora Michael Dunlop, Bruce Anstey, Will Dunlop e Guy Martin. Buon lavoro per il nostro Stefano Bonetti, che nella Stock e nella SS è riuscito a qualificarsi 17° e 18°. A partire da domattina le gare, alle 11 ora locale, con l’evento finale della Superbike alle 16.
