Moto2 Australia: vince Rins, 1° podio per Baldassarri

Vittoria d’autorità per lo spagnolo Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) nel GP di Australia della classe Moto2. Il terribile rookie iberico, scattato dalla pole position, ha comandato la corsa dall’inizio alla fine arrivando a tagliare il traguardo con oltre 6″ sul secondo classificato, l’inglese Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing), e conquistando così il secondo posto nel mondiale ai danni del connazionale Tito Rabat (Marc VDS EG 0,0).

Fantastico terzo posto a 10″ dal vincitore per l’italiano Lorenzo Baldassarri (Forward Racing), al primo podio in carriera nel giorno della sua 50a presenza nel Motomondiale. Quarta posizione per il giapponese Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) davanti al belga Xavier Siméon (Federal Oil Gresini), allo spagnolo Luis Salom (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) e al francese neo-Campione del Mondo Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport).

Punti iridati anche per gli altri due piloti italiani impegnati nella Middle Class: 11° Franco Morbidelli (Italtrans Racing), al rientro dopo quattro gare d’assenza per infortunio, 13° Simone Corsi (Forward Racing).
