Driving alone for 3 Days in the #Bolivian #Altiplano taking a #selfie near the worlds largest salt flat, not a single soul in sight for days, no gas stations, no help if something were to happen in an emergency. But was one of the most incredible and majestic rides I’ve ever encountered. No #GPS, getting lost multiple times, roads cut off by floods and rivers, a hand drawn map with scribble to guide my way for 330+ miles of off road bliss, only to run out of fuel at 14,000 ft above sea level, and coast in neutral gear for 14 miles down hill from 14,000 ft to almost sea level to make it to the border of #Chile in San Pedro de #Atacama. I had to push the #bike the rest of the way to the gas station in what I can only describe as the most cheerful and ridiculous outcome to a #dangerous situation up to that point in my life… Every day is an adventure…

19,347 ft in #altitude above the #clouds in bad #weather at the #summit of the World’s Highest Active #Volcano, called #Cotopaxi in #Ecuador. Was one of most physically demanding challenges of my life, that I almost didn’t make it back from. After 3 months of driving on a motorcycle from North #America to South America with no exercise or #mountain training of any sort, I rummaged some used gear from a local near #Quito, crampons, ice axe, and wool socks and found a guide willing to take me up the mountain for 3 days. On summit day I woke up at 4 am to begin my ascent, and was greeted by the most amazing stars I’d ever seen in my life above the clouds. As I started suffering from hypoxia and altitude sickness 2,000 ft from the summit, my deepest primal instincts and conjuring of my deepest anguish and determination dragged me to the top to enjoy a brief moment before passing out.
